Firstly we would like to welcome our new teacher, Ms Mc Hugh. We wish Ms Murphy O’Connor, Ms O’Rourke and Deirdre Sparling the very best in their new posts and we would like to thank them for all their work and dedication to our children.
We have had a very busy year during 2015/2016. Two of our officers were elected to Board of Management. Congratulations to both Damien Mullaney and Majella Sheehan – two great additions to the Board.
During the year we purchased
• Two laptops for the school
• Two interactive data projectors for the new classrooms
• Books for the literacy programme in the school for Junior Infants to 2nd
class. This literacy programme is now almost complete and the children
are benefitting hugely.
• Registration for the FAI Primary 5’s competition.
• Registration for the Athletics Ireland registration.
In October, parents participated in Maths Day. Parents were invited to come into the school and give their time to work with the students on one of the stations for the Maths games. Many thanks to all involved. This happened again this October again with a huge turn-out of parents.
In February, Elaine O’Shea from Limerick Sports Partnership gave a talk to students, teachers and parents on Healthy Eating and Healthy Living.
In March, the Parents’ Association collected €386.82 for the Joanne McMahon Thanksgiving Fundraiser. These were the proceeds from a non-uniform day.
In April, the Parents’ Association organised a talk on Internet Safety. Jason O’Mahony gave an excellent presentation on ‘Children of the Digital Age, An Internet Safety Guide’. It was a very informative presentation on the dangers of the internet and how we can protect our children. Thanks to Cecilia Moloney for organising this.
In April, a palaeontologist visited the school and spoke to the students about his work and the Parents’ Association acknowledged his visit with a gift. Thank you to Helen Forde for organising this visit.

On Wednesday October 12th 2016, the Parents Association held their AGM. On the night, the following officers were elected for 2016/2017

As we look forward to another year, we would like to thank all the parents who so generously give their time, talents and ideas to the Parents’ Association. The school have a very supportive school community and we would like to thank all parents for their contributions to all the events. Everyone is very welcome to our meetings which are very informal and a relaxed way to meet others.
This year we are currently organising the Halloween Disco. If anyone has any ideas for fundraising/workshops, please get in contact. We look forward to working with you all throughout the year and we will be in touch!
